Houlton's Women's Institute
About the group:
The Womens Institute is the largest women's organisation in the UK. Houlton WI meets on the second Wednesday of the month at The Barn. Doors open at 7:15pm, we start at 7:30pm and finish at 9pm.
You don't have to live in Houlton to join us - members are young mums, working and active retired women. We don't sing "Jerusalem" or have jam making competitions. We do have creative crafting evenings making things from fused glass designs to ceramic floral bee baths. We book speakers about everything from bee keeping to diagnosing ADHD in women and have learned belly dancing, salsa and burlesque. All women are welcome. We welcome visitors to our meetings - you can come and try us out for £6 per meeting or join for the year 11 meetings for £54.

We have 3 different sub-groups:
- Books and Beyond meets in the Barn at 7:30pm on the first Wednesday of the month.
- The Yarners meet in the Barn at 7pm on the first and third Wednesday of the month.
- Our Houlton Mums Social Group meets at The Waterside Pub at 7:30pm on the third Wednesday of the month.
We also organise additional events - wine tasting or workshops for those months when there are 5 Wednesdays.
Interested in:
Creative activities, entertaining speakers, learning new things, reading, discovering new things, participating in workshops, dancing and exercise and social events.
Who is it for?
Any woman who wants to join.
